Terms of Service
1. Introduction
By creating an account or using the Meety mobile application or website ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms" or "Agreement"). This is a legally binding contract between you and the individual developer of Meety ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use our Services.
2. Eligibility and Your Account
2a. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use our Services. By using Meety, you warrant and represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You have never been convicted of a felony, a sex crime, or any crime involving violence.
- You have not previously been suspended or banned from our Services.
2b. Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for securing your device and for all activities that occur under your account. Since accounts are bound directly to your device, they cannot be transferred or logged into from other devices. You agree to keep your profile information accurate and up to date.
2c. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any behavior that violates these Terms or harms the Meety community. Specifically, you must not:
- Harass, abuse, defame, bully, or stalk other users.
- Scam, defraud, or solicit money or financial assistance from other users.
- Use the Services for any commercial or promotional activity, including spam, advertising, or selling services (including adult/sex work services).
- Create fake accounts, impersonate any person, or create an account if you are under 18.
- Scrape, crawl, extract, or mine data from the Services, or reverse-engineer any part of the application.
2d. Prohibited Content
(User Generated Content - UGC Rules)
You are solely responsible for any content you upload, post, or share on Meety. You must not upload any content that:
- Contains nudity, sexually explicit material, pornography, or violence.
- Promotes hate speech, racism, bigotry, or discrimination against any group.
- Infringes upon any third-party intellectual property, trademark, or copyright.
- Includes illegal material or encourages unlawful behavior.
Zero Tolerance Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Any violation of these rules will result in the immediate removal of the offending content and the permanent ban of your account without warning or refund.
3. Content Rights and Ownership
3a. Your Content
You own all of the content (such as profile photos, public bio, and descriptions) that you provide to Meety ("Your Content"). You are solely responsible for Your Content and the consequences of uploading it.
3b. Member Content
Other users will also upload content ("Member Content"). While we actively moderate public profiles and employ automated safety filters in transit, we do not pre-approve, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, safety, or legality of Member Content. Each member is legally responsible for their own words and actions. Your interactions with other members are entirely at your own risk.
3c. Our Content
All logos, designs, text, graphics, code, and other intellectual property associated with Meety ("Our Content") are owned by us. You are granted a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license to use the app for its intended purposes, subject to your compliance with these Terms.
4. Inappropriate Content, Misconduct, and Moderation
To ensure a safe and respectful community, we implement the following tools and procedures:
- In-App Reporting (Report): You can report any user or inappropriate content directly in the app at any time.
- In-App Blocking (Block): You can instantly block any user to prevent them from contacting you.
- Automated Safety Filters: While sending adult or sexually explicit content is strictly prohibited in private chats (and constitutes a violation of these Terms), we respect your privacy and do not store or read your conversations. Therefore, as a preventative safety measure to protect recipients from unsolicited sensitive content, we employ an automated programmatic image filter in transit that detects and blurs adult or sensitive photos. This process is executed programmatically in real-time by automated machine code without human review or data storage. Receiving a blurred image does not mean the content is permitted; users who send explicit content in chats are violating these Terms and will be permanently banned if reported.
- Active Moderation: We review reported profiles and content within 24 hours. We reserve the absolute right to remove non-compliant content and permanently terminate accounts that violate our community rules.
- Voice and Video Call Privacy & Safety: Voice and video calls are direct peer-to-peer transmissions between devices and are never recorded, monitored, or saved on our servers. You have access to Report and Block buttons during and after calls. Blocking or reporting another user during a call will immediately and permanently terminate the connection, end the call, and block all future communications.
5. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your technical data and profile information. By using our Services, you agree that your data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Rights You Grant to Meety
By creating an account, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable, and sub-licensable license to host, store, copy, display, modify, and distribute Your Content (such as profile photos and bios) for the purpose of operating, displaying, and improving the Services. To protect your photos from unauthorized use outside Meety, you authorize us to act on your behalf and submit copyright/DMCA takedown notices to third parties who steal your profile pictures from our Services.
You agree that we may access, preserve, and disclose your account information if required to do so by a valid legal process (subpoena, warrant, or court order) or in a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to protect safety or enforce these Terms.
7. Purchases and Virtual Items
7a. Coins and Premium Services
You may purchase coins or premium subscriptions ("Subscriptions") to access special features. All purchases are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or process your credit card or financial data. Please note that purchasing a Subscription and purchasing Coins are separate. Certain features (such as sending photos, voice calls, and video calls) require a Subscription to be unlocked/enabled first; however, actually utilizing these features (sending a message, sending a photo, sending a digital gift, making a voice call, or making a video call) requires and consumes Coins. Additionally, viewing photos received within private chats requires an active Subscription. If you do not have an active Subscription, received photos will appear blurred and locked; upgrading to a Subscription will allow you to view these photos without consuming Coins. A Subscription grants you the ability/permission to access and view these features, but does not provide unlimited free usage for actions that consume Coins, and you must still spend the required amount of Coins per action (such as sending photos or making calls).
7b. Virtual Items & Gifts
Coins and any digital items or gifts (which may be unlocked or purchased using coins) represent a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to access digital services. Coins cannot be transferred or sent directly to other users. Any digital gifts or items sent within the Services have no real-world monetary value, do not reflect any stored value, and cannot be redeemed, sold, or exchanged for real currency. The Coin cost for any features or items (such as messages, photo attachments, digital gifts, voice calls, or video calls) is subject to change at any time in our sole discretion and without prior notice. Your license to these virtual items will terminate when your account is closed or if the Services are discontinued.
7c. Refunds and Cancellations
All purchases and redemptions of virtual items and subscriptions are final and non-refundable. Meety does not issue refunds directly under any circumstances, including cases where coins were consumed but a feature failed to perform correctly due to server interruptions, network dropouts, device issues, or third-party outages. We do not guarantee 100% correct or uninterrupted functioning of the Services or coin transactions. If your internet connection drops, a call fails, or a coin is deducted without the action completing due to technical faults (either on your end or our infrastructure), you are not entitled to a refund or coin restoration from us. If you seek a refund, you must apply directly through the Google Play Store, which will evaluate your request in accordance with their respective refund policies. Deleting your account or uninstalling the app from your device does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must manually cancel your subscription in your Google Play Store account settings to avoid future billing.
8. Local Chat Storage Disclaimer
To maximize your privacy, your private chat history, sent photos, and messages are stored only on your local device and are never backed up on our databases or servers. If you uninstall the application, clear your app data, or lose your device, all of your chats and chat media will be permanently lost. We have no technical capability to retrieve or restore deleted conversations for you.
9. Account Termination & Impersonation Policies
You can delete your account at any time within the app's settings. We also reserve the absolute right to suspend, restrict, or ban your account, without notice or refund, if we believe you have violated these Terms, behaved inappropriately (on or off our Services), or created safety risks for our community.
Impersonation & Fake Profiles: Impersonation is strictly prohibited. If you find a profile using your photos or identity, contact us at support@joinmeety.com with proof of identity, and we will promptly remove the offending profile from our public user pool. However, due to our on-device architecture and privacy-first model, we do not require email registration, do not use passwords, and do not collect or store registration IP addresses, device logs, or chat histories on our servers. Therefore, we are technically unable to provide any historical connection logs, IP records, or chat data regarding the offending profile to you or any third party, and we assume no liability for the non-existence or inability to produce such data.
10. No Criminal Background or Identity Verification Checks
Meety does not conduct criminal background checks, sex offender registry searches, identity verification, face verification, or photo verification (KYC/face verification) on its users. We do not offer or display verified profile badges, and all profiles are completely unverified. We may display a "Premium" badge or tag on certain profiles to indicate active subscriptions, but this is purely a billing status indicator and does not represent identity verification, criminal background checks, or profile validation. We do not guarantee the veracity, identity, safety, or intentions of any user. You are solely responsible for your own safety. Always use your best judgment, follow common-sense safety precautions, and be extremely cautious when communicating with or meeting new people.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As-Is")
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY MATCHES OR COMMUNICATION WILL LEAD TO DESIRED RESULTS.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, update, or discontinue any feature, tool, or portion of the Services at any time, in our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability. We make no representations or warranties regarding the continuous availability, safety, or reliability of any feature or service. All characteristics of the Services are subject to change without warning, and we are not liable for any such changes.
No Liability for Data Loss or Software Updates: We are not liable for any loss of data, including but not limited to chat histories, profile information, coin balances, virtual items, or settings, that may occur due to software updates, bugs, server crashes, system failures, database issues, or human errors. You acknowledge that virtual balances and chats are digital licenses that can be lost due to technical faults, and we are not obligated to restore them.
Device Compatibility and User Errors: We have no obligation to ensure that the Services are compatible with your specific device, operating system, or network provider. We are not responsible for any app malfunctions, coin consumption errors, or data loss caused by your device’s hardware, software version, network connectivity issues, or your own actions (such as accidentally deleting the app, clearing cache, or losing access to your device).
Device Permissions & Functionality: To use features such as video/voice calls or to receive notifications, you must grant the app the necessary permissions (Camera, Microphone, and Notifications) on your device. These permissions are requested on-demand only when you initiate the relevant features. If you refuse or disable these permissions, those specific features will not function, and we assume no liability for any resulting performance limitations or failures.
Profile Listing & Visibility Disclaimers: We list profiles of other users using proprietary algorithms and filters based on device locale settings. We do not warrant or guarantee that your profile will be shown at any particular frequency or in any specific order. Profile visibility is subject to proprietary sorting parameters, user activity, and engagement, and we are not liable for the number of views or communications your profile receives.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPER OF MEETY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, OR LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF: (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE SERVICES; (II) THE CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES ON OR OFF THE SERVICES; OR (III) ANY PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL HARM, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR ISSUES RESULTING FROM INTERACTIONS, CONVERSATIONS, OR MEETINGS WITH OTHER USERS.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the individual developer of Meety from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (i) your access to or use of the Services; (ii) Your Content; (iii) your interaction with other users; or (iv) your violation of these Terms.
14. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that any content on Meety infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our official support email (support@joinmeety.com) with the following details: a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing content in the app, your contact details, and a statement made under penalty of perjury that you own the rights or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
15. Ads and Third-Party Content
Our Services may display advertisements (such as Google AdMob) or link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or products offered by these third parties. Your interactions with third-party ads are entirely between you and those advertisers.
16. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of your relationship with Meety shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal claim or dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of London, United Kingdom.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of Meety, and supersede all prior agreements or understandings. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision in these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right.
